To develop a computational modeling and simulation framework to couple to an existing multiscale experimental protocol for measurement of chondrocyte mechanics.

With advancement in multi-photon confocal microscopy, in vivo measurement of chodrocyte deformation when subjected to physiological loading has become possible in murine models. By coupling this measurement ability with computational modeling previously unavailable investigative paths arise such as, multiscale model validation and in situ/in vivo characterization of cartilage micro-scale constituents. This project will modify an existing experimental protocol to allow for replication of the experiment in silico.
