The "id" program that comes with OpenSim32 causes a conflict with the system "id" command on Linux.
I downloaded the source code of OpenSim32 and compiled and installed using the instructions. The program was installed on the system. Some of the binary files went to the folder /usr/local/bin
In particular the binary file called "id" was causing a conflict in my system because it's the same name as the system command "id" placed on /usr/bin. Because of this, other programs trying to call the "id" system command were calling wrongly the "OpenSim32" one.
I realized when I tried to update the Grub. The "update-grub" command was not working because it was not able to identify the user.
Also when I was opening a TTY console, after the welcome message, it was showing the help message of the "OpenSim32" "id" command. I suppose that it was trying to call the system "id" command.
I'm running Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 Wheezy 64bits with the standard kernel. |
