This is a musculoskeletal model of the index finger, which includes intrinsic muscles and a plugin to estimate muscle activations using static optimisation and experimentally collected EMG. The aim of the model and solution method is to improve estimates of muscle co-contraction.
This musculoskeletal model of the index finger with four degrees of freedom and seven muscles (divided into 14 component through the extensor mechanism).
We have included a plugin to apply constraints based on experimentally collected EMG to static optimization solution methods.
The goal of these tools is to improve co-contraction estimates and provide a means to assess tendon tension distribution through the finger.
